Hopscotch: Commission and Premiere
Commissioned by Astral Artists through its Micro-Commissioning Program, Wu connected with Grammy Award-winning composer Anna Clyne with the goal of a narratively inspired solo flute work. Premiered by Wu in November 2019 in Philadelphia, Hopscotch is a work inspired by the childhood game, both fiery, playful, and incorporating gentle folk melodies.
The piece was an addition to a concert centered about folklore and the flute.
